It was a bright Sunday afternoon when my friends and I decided to complete our Literature project at the National Library. The end of the holiday was nearing and we didn't have that much time. We planned and started our journey to the library in 2 hours time.
We met up at Pasir Ris Mrt interchange. Unfortunately, Aiman was late causing both me and Zul to stare into blank space.
We reached the library 45 minutes later. We entertained our self during the long journey with a PSP which I decided to bring along.
Once we reached the library, we made our way to the computer to search for a perfect book which matches the necessary requirements. We browsed every shelf for the book that we needed and finally got it. The project went on as planned and 75 percent of it was already completed. It turned out to be a very dull and boring day, so we decided to head for Peninsula for window shopping.
We went looking around and I suddenly felt like going to the washroom to do my business. I began to panic when I didn't even see a sign with the word 'Toilet' on it. We ran around like a bunch of rascals in search of one and finally got one. I let out a sigh of relief.
After so, I was stunned by this shop which was about spells and witchcraft. The door was open but I did not dare to enter it. It had that spooky aura. I looked through the glass panel. My eyes widened when I saw this book with this title:
How to get someone to love you!
It shocked the living daylight out of me. We decided to go home as it was getting late. I still can’t believe that such practices are available till today and yet, in Singapore.

A day out with my friends

Music is my friend
I woke up this morning with the bright morning sunlight shining at my face. Everything was quiet except for the birds chirping outside. I got up from my bed and opened the door. Suddenly, the whole atmosphere changed. I could hear my mother nagging, my father shouting and my my baby sister crying. This was all because of my brother who was supposed to go for his soccer training but instead, he decided to disturb my baby sister who has just woke up from sleep.
I had difficulty walking from my bedroom to the toilet to have my bathe as the noise were being thrown at me like bombs in a war field. After my bathe, the noise was still there and i ran all the way back into my room to get changed. I just could not take it anymore. It was in the morning and yet my brother has already created problems causing my parents to get into a bad mood.
Feeling so, I quickly did what I normally do when I feel disturbed and moody.
I plugged my PSP into my television and switched it on. Then I played some music at full blast. This always helps me to relax and calm my mind. Like they say, music brings pleasure to ones ears.
My parents did not scold me for the loud volume of music as they know that I'm feeling stressed from them scolding my brother. After a few hours, my brother finally went out to soccer training and I could finally have some peace while roaming around the house.

A new coach
| The school bell finally rang and the class was dismissed on time that day. I hurriedly proceeded to the canteen to have a quick bite with my soccer teamates before my soccer training. We gathered at our normal spot which was at the staircase near our new ICT Lounge. I settled down and took out my fresh pair of boots. It was shiny and has the smell of a new shoe. Wearing it just gives pleasure to my feet. I went into the newly turfed soccer field to start my light kickings while waiting for the others to complete changing and also for my coach, Mr. Donald Leo to arrive. He came in about five minutes time after all of us were in the field but something caught my eye. There was something odd about him. It basically was his attire. He was not wearing his usual sports fit when he came into the field. He asked me to lead the team on a warm up routine under the shade. I did as i was told and after completing the warm up, i realised that Mr. Leo was not alone. He was standing with someone who is a complete stranger to my life but what i do not know was that that 'stranger' was going to be one of the most important person in my life throughout Victoria. He was my new soccer coach who will work closely with Mr. Leo in pushing us, the soccer team, to greater heights in this coming year. We hope to repeat the history when our soccer boys managed to clinch 2nd position in the National level of the inter-school competition. From the 1st training with the new coach, i managed to learn quite a few things about him. I learnt that he is a person who believes in teamwork and a 100% commitment to be put into the team by each and every one of the players. I believe, with hard work and dedication, the team can go far. |
